    1. The idea was good. Daughter to remake dead mother's iconic movie and find out more about the strange circumstances of her mother's death. Unfortunately this book doesn't live up to the hype. The characters are not likeable (all the protagonist, Lara, seems to do to cry, smoke, feel 'lost', smoke a joint, smoke, be annoying and repeat) so it's hard to care for any of them. Oliver is detached, Eve is melodramatic and Lucas and Alex are barely 2-dimensional. Even Eve, whose story we learn through d [...]

    2. I had previously read this book and did not enjoy to then, however, I have really enjoyed it this time- it was interesting and kept me wanting to read more.

    3. A story which explores the difficulties of following the same career path as one of your parents. There are many actors who do and there lies the question, is it easier for the offspring because of the parent having paved a path or is the pressure worse, living up to the mark? This is not the central storyline but it does crop up. The story itself surrounds Lara, her relationship with her boyfriend Alex and her friends from University. The death of her famous mother and how the family cope and t [...]

    4. ***spoilers***This book had me so furstrated! I loved it and hated it all at the same time. I wanted to scream at Lara when she falls for her co-star Jacob because she has this really loveable boyfriend called Alex who calls her things like 'monkey'. Clemency writes so you like Alex alot. Maybe she thought that becuase Lara has a lot of things to deal with in her life that the readers would forgive her but I can't! Apart from being annoyed by Lara's actions the rest is a really good read.

    5. Great book with a very meaningful back story background story about a young woman who inspires to to like her mother that had unfortunately passed away.Laura is faced with some problems when it comes to doing a film that her mother was a very highly known for this play, this makes Laura concerned if she can do it and see how she lives up to her mothers name

    6. this is more in depth than a standard holiday read. I thought it was incredible and I felt by the end that Lara was so well rounded and well written that it was like she was in the room. She may be one of my fave characters in a long time.

    7. I found this book rather slow and the main character very self absorbed and in constant turmoil of weather she is good enough. Highlights I found was the descriptiveness of the scenarios but lacked oomph and in doing so struggled through it.

    8. This was a fun airplane read. I read it coming back from London and thus had a great appreciation for the modern London setting. Well written, romantic, touching and would make a good movie.

    9. I loved this book. Yes it was easy to read but not at all as predictable as what I thought it would be. Great summer day read!

    10. I was disappointed with the ending of the book. The book started out strong, full of promise to be truly great. The book towards the end had captivated me especially as the revelations were revealed and twists appeared that I hadn't guessed. But the epilogue left me feeling of was that it. Lara and Eve were great characters and I loved how their stories intertwined through the different parts of the book.
