    1. Traitor's KissI do not really know why I pushed through with book 1. Maybe it was because book 2 was coming after it so i thought why not.It was just so dull and impersonal. So this woman Charlotte, who we never gets to know. Whose skin I never get under. Rescues a British soldier called Gabriel. His family had hired her. He might be a traitor. So most of the book is them slowly talking and trying to get out of France. I do get to know him more, and yes yes, she is undercover, but still, if I do [...]

    2. This is 2 historical romance stories for the price of one -- the first begins when Charlotte Parnell rescues Lord Gabriel Pennistan from french jail cell. This is just the beginning of an adventure in mystery and seduction. The second story links Lady Olivia Pennistan (Gabriel's sister) with retired soldier Michael Garrett. This story begins when Michael rescues Lady Olivia from kidnappers. The adventure continues when Michael is hired to protect Olivia and her family from persistent threats.Lot [...]

    3. I love this book. There are two complete novels in one volume. Read them in order. They are both exciting, contain mysteries that unfold slowly, with lots of sexual tension and great endings.

    4. Please do not read if you do not like to read as this contains spoilers.Blayney brings us the first two books in the Pennistan series.Traitor's KissCharlotte Parnell is great at disguises. Her last adventure brings Lord Gabriel Pennistan into her life. He is locked up in a French prison and she is hired to help him escape. Her challenge s to get him off French soil and back into England. She did not plan for the lust she feels for him and he did not plan to think about her after they parted ways [...]

    5. The plot and characters sound good, but the writing style doesn’t work for meVIEWER’S OPINION:This book contains two full length stories. Each story was more than 330 pages long. I only read the first story: TRAITOR’S KISS. I did not enjoy it; therefore I did not read the second story: LOVER’S KISS. This review covers TRAITOR’S KISS only.I don’t care for this author’s writing style. It felt flat. There was no spark or interesting conversation. I wasn’t emotionally connected with [...]

    7. I found a new author! On my recent 'road trip' to Maine I stopped at Nora Roberts' bookstore, Turn the Page, in Boonsboro, Maryland. (I'm a real Nora Roberts' fan!) When one of the sales clerks found I was also a historical fiction fan, she recommended another Boonsboro author, Mary Blayney. I was not disappointed. This volume contains two of her books in the Pennistan series:'Traitor's Kiss' is full of intrigue and suspense in addition to romance. It was a 'page-turner' for me. I loved the H/H a [...]

    8. This was a two books in one deal. The first book, Traitor's Kiss, was interesting, romantic: somewhat. The overall story of how they escape jail and France is interesting. It is very wordy and descriptive. A good book. The second book Lover's Kiss, brings one of the characters from the first book as the protagonist along with the previous hero's sister. Again, very descriptive, interesting, romance really kicks in at the end and has a very interesting result to the suspense. My only issue was how [...]

    9. Recommend - Traitor's Kiss & Lover's Kiss from Mary Blayney:Great value with 2 excellent books under one cover. Enjoyed both stories. Traitor's Kiss grabs you with a prisoner rescue. A strong & brave leading lady in this tale with many twists and turns along the way. Well worth the read.Lover's Kiss keeps you guessing until the end. The unwilling hero finds himself in the situation of saving a lady from the cold. The reader learns as the story goes the answers to the mystery. I don't wan [...]

    10. The author is my dear friend's sister-in-law, so I was most curious to read one of her books. This was the first, but I found I like her writing style. The story lacked intensity/depth, but there was a little mystery, romance, history, and just enough characters to make it enjoyable to read. I would probably read another of her books.

    11. Each of these books starts with a great premise. But their plotting lacks logic -- there didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason, especially in book 2, for why anything happens when it does. Too many gaps in logic makes for a confused reader.

    12. I love Mary Blayney, but this one is my favorite so far. Three years later and I'm still thinking about her characters. True testament to how memorable her characters are, because I read A LOT.

    13. This book was ok, not exactly what i was expecting but it was entertaining. I really love the characters but the writing style was too flat and boring at times. Still it is a good read!!
