    1. This was book two in the series and I thought it was a lot of fun. It's light urban fantasy with some dark humor. In this book, we're getting to know the main characters (and some new ones) a little better. I also liked that while there is a cliffhanger at the end, the main conflict got wrapped up in this story. So far, any of the books in this series can be read as stand-alone (HUGE plus in my book). For those who want to know: There are a couple of cuss words and some non-graphic violence.

    2. World Domination ?Excellent story! This is a continuation from the previous book. An ancient is unleashed and Joshua, Titus,Abigail, George and Arthur will work together in this action packed and even humorous book! Enjoy!

    3. Joshua reunites with his long lost mother, but not for long. It's a great fantasy story, with a bit of humour as well to give that light touch. Follows perfectly after the first one, to make you keep reading

    4. Truly unrealistic plot destroyed the story for me.Sorry Ilana but that whole thing of expecting the reader to swallow the idea that this super old and powerful vampire would fall for such a poor plot of accepting human shaped explosives into his lair is insulting. I tried to continue reading. Then I fast forwarded and finally just ended the book. A truly juvenile and poor plot development.

    5. DNF, got silly quickI enjoyed the first book, three stars in my opinion, but was hoping for a little more consistency in book 2. In book 1 it was difficult to tell how a matchup should go based on power level, but I struggled through it until the end where out of nowhere the protagonist can turn vampires to stone. It happened in a place where he has difficulty using his type of magic no less. The books try to show that a mage is less than a witch, but the protagonist is this smart guy who overco [...]

    6. After not knowing how the situation with Joshua would end in book one, I was excited to find out what happens in this one. Like the first book, no matter how serious things get, Joshua manages to keep a sightly humored air about him. However, things do get a little tougher and darker. The danger has grown, and there's more at stake. The characters grow with the challenge, and it was nice to see Joshua maturing as he takes his stand against a very powerful and dangerous foe. The scene building in [...]

    7. Poor JoshuaThis rating is based on the talent of the writer to pull you in to the story, and Joshua comes alive! I'm very glad to have read books 1 and 2. Now I am ready for book 3. God help Joshua. This is going to be quite the ride! Enjoy .

    8. The Mage's TrickWell done , the story continues with much enthusiasm and adventure as the first one. Joshua is always on the lookout and move to stay ahead of his nemesis. This is well worth reading.

    9. A New Favourite.Yeah!!!!!Joshua is a incredibly likable character and someone I am looking forward to getting to know. I can't wait for the third book to come out. Keep up the good work, Ilana.

    10. Fantastic readThis is the second book in this series. Love the characters, the family dynamics and the story line. Immediately bought book 3
