  • A teenage girl vanishes from a bathroom in a crowded mall To find out what happened to her, Owl and Raccoon wade through homicide investigations, SWAT raids, and a clique of high school girls who will tell them anything they want to know, except the truth. The second Owl and Raccoon novella is equal parts hardboiled police procedural and classical locked room mystery.

    1. In this second outing we find out a bit more about Racoon eg what his house is like, his longing to go back to SWATwell that's about it. wdyg, [where did you go, for the non-teen-speaker] is touted as hard boiled. It does have the quick scene changes that HBs are given to, and all that spare bleakness they require. A decent, short, read.

    2. A short story of a missing teenager from the mall. None of her girlfriends seen her since she went into the bathroom. Cops question the girls and the mall security guy. No luck or clues did they find. Cant say to much more or I will give the story away. Short sentences a lot between the two cop.

    3. This is my novella. I'm proud of it, but if you are new to the world of Owl & Raccoon, The Single Staircase, their first mystery, is a better place to start. It you like it, you'll like this one too.
