  1. Marvelous story of a 1970s bicycle trip along the West Cork coast. Chock full of historical insight into the places passed along the way. Author's description of personal encounters add to the story. Vivid narrative adds to the pleasure reading this book.

  2. Absorbing, particularly for a West Cork-dweller. there are layers of interest here; the history of the area as written by Somerville-Large, and the area as it was in the early seventies, compared to now. Loved reading about the local creamery as an important hub for farmers to meet daily and share news, gossip and tips.
