    1. This is a nice, complimentary book to the Mitford series. This books is composed of quotes, notes, Bible verses and thoughts to ponder, all organized in a format that is supposed to be Father Tim's very own notebook. The majority of this book is written in cursive, which is supposed to be Father Tim's handwriting. This would make a lovely coffee table or bedside book, especially for Miftord fans. My only complaint is that I found the handwriting difficult to read at times. I also read the ebook a [...]

    2. I keep this book by my bedside and read through parts of it when I only have a little time to read. It's very inspirational. Jan Karon quotes a wide variety of people from C.S. Lewis to Thomas Jefferson. It's especially meaningful if you've read the Mitford series. I've marked my favorite quotes, but inevitably I find a new favorite every time I read it again.

    3. I really like what they have done with this book. It has handwritten notes, typed notes with overtypes, strikeouts, and repeating characters, coffee stains, all in all a well designed book. But, it's also a great read. It gives you an insight into what is important to Father Tim.I took this book on a flight with me, and finished the book. There were some notable quotes, but I'll have to indicate them when I have the book in my hands. There are no page numbers in this book. There are also a numbe [...]

    4. Plot: No specific plot line. Father Tim is the main character of the Mitford series. This complementary book to that series is a notebook in which Father Tim keeps track of his favorite quotes.Lots of inspiration to be found here.

    5. This book is really great if you like quotes. It is supposed to be Father Tim's quote book (he is a fictional priest in the Mitford series). I like to thumb through it occasionally. There are really great quotes. It is a little hard to read because it is supposed to be hand written.

    6. If you're looking for a relaxing read, this is for you. It is filled with "handwritten" and "typed" quotes and reflections. Think of what it would be like to sneak into Grandpa's study and browse through his journal. A good gift for a loved one of the reflecting persuasion.

    7. I am going to keep this book real handy for reference time and again. What a wealth of wisdom for those inevitable times in our life that need time for pause and reflection! Have sticky notes on all my most favorite quotes!

    8. The words and ideas are beautiful but its not in print but very sloppy cursive and is extremely hard to read.

    9. Patches of Godlight is a sweet little surplus to the Mitford books, published in between the sixth and seventh books. It appears to be handwritten by Father Tim himself, with extra little notes, and a few taped-in typewritten pages. It was just a little harder to read the cursive, but that made it easier to believe that I could be reading Father Tim's quote notebook. I also love Jan Karon's attention to detail; all the typewritten pages have a double "ii" from where his typewriter key sticks. (T [...]

    10. I love words. I like to write them; I like to say them, but I am much more enamored of the brilliant words of others and am therefore happy to recommend a book by bestselling author Jan Karon that is chock-full of lovely words: Patches of Godlight: Father Tim’s Favorite Quotes was published as a companion book to the bestselling Mitford Years series.Karon wrote her series to “give readers an extended family, and to applaud the extraordinary beauty of ordinary lives.” Father Timothy Anthony [...]

    11. This book is supposed to give you the feel of reading Father Tim's note book. He writes down nice quotes when ever he stumbles on to them in literature, poetry and scriptures. And there really are some pearls in this collection of quotes. That said, I do have a problem with this book. As cute as the idea is, to get the feel of peeking in to someone's private note book with hand written notes, it really would have been nicer with regular print. I had a difficult time deciphering the awful handwrit [...]

    12. I love everything Jan Karon writes. Here is a clever collection of quotes that are Father Tim's favorites. If you don't know, Father Timothy Kavanagh is the main character in Jan Karon's "Mitford" series. This little collection is done up as a real quote book with hand written entries, quotes done up on a manual typewriter with all the errors (as Father Tim might have done) and pasted into the book with tape. It is useful on a daily basis to keep one's mind centered on the things that matter. If [...]

    13. You really never finish this book. It is a tremendous book to keep by your bed for those times when you can't sleep. Even though you know it is really Jan Karon's thoughts, Father Tim's voice speaks to you. The Bible verses he uses are perfect for the ponderings, and I have found comfort more than once.

    14. Patches of Godlight: Father Tim's Favorite Quotes is Jan Karon's addendum to her Mitford Series. Partially laid out in handwriting script, the book is basically Father Tim's journal where he jots down quotes, passages, and ideas that he has gleaned in life that he wants to make note of or use for a sermon. From Bible quotes to philosophy, Patches of Godlight is inspiring and thoughtful.

    15. This book contains a variety of quotes from philosophers, thinkers, and poets "compiled" by "Father Tim" (main character in Jan Karon's Mitford series). I greatly enjoyed the quotes. However, the book is designed to look like a hand-written notebook and I didn't like that it has no pagination. Otherwise, a great resource of inspirational quotes.

    16. Excellent resource for spiritual quotations written in fictional character Father Tim's "own" handwriting or ancient typewriter complete with typo's. Adorable and inspiring. I will return to it over and over.

    17. This book has many good quotes but because almost all of them are in "Father Tim's" handwriting, it is very hard to read. Honestly, I just skimmed through it - I was just getting a headache trying to decipher the handwriting.

    18. The cursive writing and layout of print was distracting and made this book unnecessarily difficult to read. The print did not add any charm, if that was the intention. I have kept the other books in this series, but this one will go.

    19. Inspiring! I love Father Tim's powerful choice of quotes and passages, especially the ones from Dietrich Bonhoeffer and C.S. Lewis. This is kept handy on my desk at all times to share with friends and family, and has also added considerably to my own favorite quote collection.

    20. I was actually writing these out of the books into my journal and found this little informal book of hand written quotes valuable. I travel alot and need 30 second reflections

    21. I read all of Jan Karon's Fr. Tim books. This is just a book of quotes but many were inspirational and need to be remembered.
