    1. Biblical allegory in role-playing game form. If you don't fear eventually burning in hell this game might be for you. The story pieces are well conceived but the mechanics of the system are often at odds with one another, and wildly inconsistent. Expect to have a list of house rules, depending on the type of game you're planning.

    2. This is not a roleplaying game book. This is an exciting attempt to reconcile Christian mythologies, postmodern angst, and the conflicting human desires to accept and abolish mystery. "In Nomine" is a fun game. But it's also the best socio-religious litmus test that never really took off.

    3. Alas, In Nomine -- if only it had been marketed better, I think it could have really been big, especially given today's "urban fantasy" craze.

    4. The concept is fascinating; the system is interestingly quirky; but the organization of this book is so horrid that it made me knock two stars off my rating.
